The family that “Kicks” together, “Sticks” together!
About Our School
Williams Tae Kwon Do was established in 1998. Our first school was in our basement. Later we moved to the Bellin Building, where one of our clients was The Green Bay Gamblers hockey team.
After that we moved to various fitness centers until making our home on Oneida Street in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin. After a short break we moved into our Broadway Street location in De Pere. The April 24, 2019 fire forced us relocate to our current location at 1259 S Military Avenue in Green Bay. In January of 2022 we relocated across the street to 1218 S Military Ave.
Williams Tae Kwon Do is led by Master Instructor Dan Williams. Mr. Williams started his Tae Kwon Do career as an adult. After being bullied throughout his childhood and having little self esteem he decided to make a change.
He joined Chay’s Academy of Tae Kwon Do in September of 1990. Grand Master Chong Hyon Chay was the owner and Grand Master that Mr. Williams studied under.
Mr. Williams quickly realized his passion for the sport and found he had a knack for teaching beginner students. As a Red Belt he was charged to teach all of the beginner students for Grand Master Chay.
Mr. Williams received his First Degree Black Belt in December 1992. He then was asked to open a satellite school in Oconto, WI. Later, in 1995, he moved back to Green Bay to continue his teaching at Chay’s Tae Kwon Do. He soon opened his own school and established Williams Tae Kwon Do with his family.
More Than a Sport
There is more to Tae Kwon Do than kicks, punches, and blocks. Tae Kwon Do is a way of life. At Williams Tae Kwon Do students of all ages develop techniques of self defense while learning the discipline necessary to avoid confrontation.
Meet Our Instructors
Jeff originally started in martial arts as a child. He picked up Taekwondo as a family activity when he started at Williams Taekwondo and then proceeded to earn his black belt in July 2023.
Jeff works as a Lead Software Engineer. When not working, he also enjoys spending time with his family, playing league volleyball, listening to live music, attending developer conferences, playing board games and many other interests.
Nicole’s journey with Taekwondo began with one year of watching her sons and mom from the sidelines. Bored of scrolling on her phone, she decided to give it a try in September 2022. She was hooked from her first class and has developed a strong passion for this sport. She would say her favorite thing about Taekwondo is how it has helped and continues to grow her confidence.
Nicole is married to her high school sweetheart and is a stay at home mom to two energetic boys.
In her free time, Nicole enjoys doing Zumba, working out, quality family time and listening to Jelly Roll.
Sara started Taekwondo at Williams in 2021 with her two sons Dean and Owen. Since then her husband Neil has also joined, making it an awesome whole family activity. Sara has gained strength, knowledge, and confidence, as well as an appreciation for the martial arts. She hopes to continue her journey in Taekwondo for years to come.
Sara enjoys cooking, reading, yoga, music, anything outdoors, spending time with family, and discovering new places.
She works for Brown County and takes pride in knowing that her job helps the underserved of our community and provides resources to those in need.
Testimonials
Family: People who come together whether blood related or not. It is the people who are with you through anything and everything. The good, the bad, the ugly. Family, is forever your “village”.
Our Taekwondo Family came together in full cheering mode to watch our Master Instructor earn his 6th Degree Black Belt tonight. I am so proud and inspired to be learning from such a great human, a great Kwan-jan-nim, a great friend.
Congratulations Daniel Williams on your testing tonight. I hope you felt all the love support we poured out. Keep being amazing!
